How does it work?
Well, there are no tricks or magic wands! Your counsellor will accept you and anything you want to talk about, without pretending to be an expert on you. Talking about yourself and your life can help you see things more clearly. Ideas can be shared and together you and your counsellor can explore the choices or changes that seem right to you. Your counsellor will respect you and will also be honest with you. Advice is not a part of counselling; instead you can talk about what you think, how you feel, and find out what you want for yourself. Mistakes and changing your mind may be part of that and your counsellor will work through those with you at your pace. If you like, you can use drawing, painting or clay along with talking and be as creative as you want.
So what can you expect from Counselling
How private is counselling?
What you share in counselling is treated with the greatest respect and is confidential between you and your counsellor.
The Market Place takes confidentiality very seriously and has a policy, which all counsellors agree to. This will be explained to you more fully when you come.
How to get started?
